Our team began together at the same real estate development company, where we learned the foundations of building not just structures, but places people could truly call home. Over time, we each set out on our own paths, gaining new perspectives and honing our skills individually. Yet, a shared passion drew us back together, leading to the formation of JCD Residential—a company united by the vision of creating meaningful, lasting communities.

Jonathan Coldea
Jonathan Coldea is a Chicagoland-based real estate developer focused on identifying, structuring, and executing high-quality development opportunities throughout the Midwest.
With a background in operations, project management, and business development, Jon brings a hands-on, execution-driven approach to each project. His experience spans site selection, entitlement strategy, capital coordination, municipal approvals, consultant management, and project execution.
Jon’s work is centered on creating long-term value through thoughtful planning, disciplined underwriting, strong relationships, and a practical understanding of how projects move from concept to completion. He is passionate about building durable real estate assets that serve communities, investors, and end users.
Outside of development, Jon enjoys staying active, spending time with family, and being involved in his local church community.

John Hawpe
John Hawpe is a construction executive and owner’s representative with extensive experience in multifamily general contracting. His background is rooted in the GC world, where he has been involved in the construction of more than 10,000 multifamily units.
Within the development team, John provides construction oversight and owner’s representation, helping ensure projects are delivered on time, on budget, and in alignment with ownership’s objectives. His role includes reviewing budgets and schedules, coordinating with contractors and consultants, monitoring field progress, identifying risks, and maintaining accountability throughout the construction process.
With a practical, hands-on understanding of multifamily construction, John helps bridge the gap between ownership, design teams, contractors, and field operations to support efficient project delivery and long-term asset quality.
